Involve Your Church
Faith based initiatives are often more powerful and more effective than government programs. Many abolitionist movements, modern and historical, have started because religious people believed that they were called to stop the enslavement of humans. If you are a member of a faith community, whether it be Judaism, Islam, Christianity, or any other institution, consider involving your community in the fight against modern slavery.
There are many ways to organize your faith based community in the struggle against slavery. You can teach a class or have an informational meeting about slavery, take up a collection to donate to an abolitionist group, and even focus mission trips around an anti-slavery program. Talk to your faith leader and see how your organization can become an abolitionist faith group.
