Involve Your Campus

University and High School campuses can be a great way to spread the word about modern day slavery and encourage people to take action. Students seem to be more receptive and interested in social issues, and many movements throughout history have been started because of the dreams and ideas of young men and women.

Because campuses around the nation are such a hot spot and vital location, we are trying to organize a movement of students across the nation who are concerned about modern slavery. You can participate in two ways.

  1. Look through our list of college student organizations. If you find your university on the list, join one of the local organizations and start speaking up about modern slavery. If your university isn't on the list, find out whether there are any anti-slavery groups on your campus and email their contact information to campus@1865continued.org.

  2. If there aren't any organizations on your campus, start one! You can start a local chapter of 1865 Continued, Free the Slaves, or Not for Sale. The important thing is that you start creating awareness on your campus through posters, movie screenings, local newspaper stories, and more... Make Sure to send us the contact information of your new student group so that we can add you to our database.
